Scholarships

The Scholarship Fund gives local people the opportunity and support to progress to higher education. Most of our students are the first in their wider family to go to university. 

Over a three-year Degree course, our scholarship students receive financial support as well as technical and practical assistance during and after their course. 

Our Scholarship Grant allows students to be able to buy essential books and computer equipment as well as pay for travel expenses, rent and living costs especially when they have made that step towards independent living.

We’ve helped with finding work experience, carrying out course research, and charitable or volunteering projects that many are actively involved with.

Since 2011, we’ve supported 20 students from the West End to pursue a course of higher education at universities across the country, including Oxford, Leeds, Exeter, Newcastle, Teeside, and Sunderland. Courses studied range from Business with French to Biomedical Sciences. 

Our students go on to be our fantastic Community Ambassadors, promoting education and our work to the widest audiences. They regularly keep in touch with us and are always keen to help out at our events throughout the year, despite their studies and busy schedules.
